The following students earned a position on the University of Evansville Dean's List for academic achievements during the Spring Semester 2018.

Faculty members at the State University of New York at Geneseo have elected 79 students to the college's chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, the nation's oldest and most widely known academic honor society. Students from the junior and senior classes are selected each spring for membership into the organization.

SUNY Oneonta recognized more than 50 outstanding students during an Academic Achievement Awards reception on May 3. One to three students were chosen from each of the college's academic departments and programs to receive the 2018 Academic Achievement Awards. Each student selected one faculty guest to accompany them to the recognition event. In addition to their excellent work in the classroom, students were honored for distinguishing themselves in many ways, including research, activism, mentoring, athletics, involvement in campus activities and volunteerism.

The SUNY Oneonta athletics department recently held its annual awards ceremony and honored its student athletes for their outstanding accomplishments in and out of the playing arena.

JMU students embarked on 25 alternative spring break trips around the country and world this year. The students spent the week serving others while living simply and submerging themselves in the culture of their surroundings.

Loyola University Maryland has announced the members of its fall 2017 Dean's List. In order to qualify for the Dean's List at Loyola, a student must achieve a minimum QPA of at least 3.500 for the term, provided that, in the term they have successfully completed courses totaling a minimum of 15 credits.

Elizabethtown (Pa.) College announced the names of students whose outstanding academic performances have earned them the recognition of being included on the fall 2017 dean's list. Students on the dean's list are full-time undergraduate students who earn a semester grade point average of 3.60 or better in 14 or more credit hours, of which at least 12 credits are letter-graded course work.

The State University of New York at Geneseo has announced its Dean's List for the fall semester 2017. To be on the list, a student must have achieved at least a 3.5 grade point average while taking a minimum of 12 credit hours.

The State University of New York at Geneseo has announced its President's List for the fall semester 2017. To be on the list, a student must have achieved an A in all coursework (4.0 grade point average) while taking at least 12 credit hours.

Select students have been named to the Fall 2017 Dean's List at Roger Williams University in Bristol, R.I. Full-time students who complete 12 or more credits per semester and earn a GPA of 3.4 or higher are placed on the Dean's List that semester.

Approximately 2.419 students have made the Fall Semester 2017 Dean's List for academic achievement at Coastal Carolina University. To qualify for the Dean's List, freshmen must earn a 3.25 grade point average, and upperclassmen must earn a 3.5 grade point average.

Seven SUNY Oneonta students took the trip of a lifetime during winter break, traveling to the beautiful Islands of The Bahamas for the first offering of immersion course BIOL 394: Tropical Flora of The Bahamas. Stationed at Forfar Field Station on Andros Island, students explored plant communities on the islands and learned about the botanical diversity across habitats. They also visited national parks, heritage preserves and several museums to learn about the unique culture and history of The Bahamas. In their downtime, students visited nearby beaches and blue holes, snorkeled in mangroves and learned how to make traditional baskets. Faculty members Tami LaPilusa and Sean Robinson accompanied students on the trip, which lasted from Dec. 28 until Jan. 12. LaPilusa said she was inspired to create the course by a class she took in her undergraduate years.

A total of 185 SUNY Oneonta students earned Provost's List honors for the fall 2017 semester. To qualify for the Provost's List, a student must earn a perfect 4.0 grade-point average while carrying a course load of 12 hours or more.
